WIN: “HIGHLAND REEL yesterday became the first horse from Europe to secure a guaranteed
start at this years Breeders Cup, but the horse at the top of the international
recruiters’ shopping list is the Queen’s Dartmouth.
“Dartmouth is also being pursued by the Australians as a potential runner
in the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, but it was the Breeders’ Cup directors of
racing Josh Christian was selling his event to the Duke of York after the colts
third place. However, the Queen’s racing advisor John Warren announced no immediate plans for
Dartmouth, saying: “We’re thrilled he ran a fantastic and genuine race. It’s
nothing like winning but participation is everything. “John Gosden too, was pleased
with runner-up Wings Of Desire but not ready to indicate which direction he
would now take the only three-year-old in the field. “He held up the three-year-old
form well and is still learning. It was only fifth race in his life and fifth
this year. “

SIR MARK PRESCOTT'S Heath House Stables is expected to be the equivalent of Mayfair on the 'Newmarket Monopoly' board, a themed edition of the game that is to be launched shortly to mark the 350th anniversary of racing at the Flat's headquarters.
Rather than market value, the properties will be priced in chronological order of construction, which ranks Heath House, dating from 1832, as number one.
Also in high demand will be Bedford House Stables, which currently plays host to Luca Cumani and was built between 1850-60. At the other end of the scale is Rathmoy Stables on the Hamilton Road, where a rebuild is close to completion.
Rather than the regular houses and hotels, players will buy horses and stallions as they make their way around the board but those who take a wrong move will go directly to racing's equivalent of jail - the stewards' room.
Olivia Hills, communications manager at Newmarket racecourse, said: "In honour of the 350 years of history we are to launch a Newmarket edition of Monopoly in conjunction with some of our partners. The historical aspect means the oldest yards will be the most expensive. It is also hoped to incorporate some studs as well as important sites such as the new National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art at Palace House."
