Haley Turner enjoyed a chat with the Queen yesterday after riding her
SIGN MANUAL to victory at Newbury on day one of the Greenham meeting, which continues today with the pair hoping for more success with BORDER LEGEND in the Spring Cup 2.20 H'cap over 1m 25 run.  Always beautiful older horses noted to challenge for this historic race in memory of John Porter the founder of Newbury Racecourse.
The Newbury Racecourse Company was formed on 26 April 1904.

The first race meeting to be held at Newbury was over the 26 and 27 September 1905. Porter trained Zelis to win the Regulation Plate. This was his first and only win at Newbury as he retired at the end of the 1905 season.

PAUL O'GRADY hosts the first televised awards show to honour some of the nation's most amazing animals and the incredible people who dedicate their lives to them.

PAUL O'GRADY hosts an awards ceremony in which the achievements of some of the nation's extraordinary  creatures, and also the people who work with them are celebrated.

Among the areas in which our four legged friends have excelled so bravely are in military service. People and charities who have made strides in the cause of animal welfare and conservation are also honoured. And in a prize voted for by the public, a memorable internet animal performer will get in on the act.

BILL TRAVERS WITH GIRL AND BOY
Bill was a wonderful and special human being.

He worked tirelessly helping to ease the suffering of animals.
It might also be added that he was a marvellous actor and could
express more with a look than most actors can with a hundred words!
His spirit remains alive through his kind deeds and accomplishments.
The world is a better place because Bill Travers lived in it.
