HALL OF FAME
RODNEY MASTERS BRINGS US TODAY’S BIG TALKING POINT
DIAMOND BIDDING TO SHOW SPARKLE IS STILL THERE

“IT HAS been said that statistics are like a bikini. What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital. To-day at Wetherby a crown jewel of a racing statistic is put to the test when DIAMOND HARRY runs in the £100,000 bet365 Charlie Hall Chase. (3.20) He has won first time out in his five previous seasons.

"However there is an all- important factor concealed within that statistic because this time he will be returning from an injury layoff. He was last seen in public 11 months ago when winning Newbury’s Hennessy Gold Cup. A plan to bypass the King George and other targets to keep him fresh for the Cheltenham Gold Cup backfired when he succumbed to a suspensory ligament wound during his festival preparation.
“Scan back to DIAMOND HARRY’S  youth  and there is encouraging evidence that a prolonged period of time-out is by no means insurmountable . After winning a valuable bumper on his debut in the spring of 2007 at Newbury he was not seen again until taking that corresponding event the following season.
“From then on he raced more regularly and, under the skilful handling of Nick Williams, pieced together a sequence of half a dozen wins for Timmy Murphy, and one for Barry Geraghty. Murphy was ultimately jocked-off and replaced in the Hennessy by Daryl Jacob, whose move to Paul Nicholls led to James Reveley’s appointment as the Williams stable jockey.

“Today, the spotlight will be on Reveley like never before in Britain but his progressive career includes several major prizes in Europe, including back–to- back wins in Italy’s most prestigious chase the e380,000 Gran Premio Merano.
“At Ascot today, there is a potent challenge from Ireland for the £100,000 United House Gold Cup, with representatives from the likes of Noel Meade, Charles Byrnes, Adrian Maguire and Eoin Griffin, but the talking point in the Lambourn valley for the past ten days has revolved around a likely longshot who is on the comeback trail and has been given an outstanding chance by the BHA handicapper if able to recapture his form of old.
“The Charlie Mann-trained  AIR FORCE ONE runs off a mark of 132. He was rated 150 when a four- length runner-up to ROLL ALONG in the corresponding chase in 2008. A few weeks later he was a three-length-runner up to MADISON DU BERLAIS, off 153. After his 18 months on the sidelines many punters will have written him off, unaware he excelled in a workout for Noel Fehily at Kempton last week and was foot- perfect in a schooling session last Tuesday. FEHILY, one of the best judges around, says that AIR FORCE ONE has given him the impression he is back to his best. Which raises another talking point; has the handicapper taken a risk with AIR FORCE ONE’S ratings freefall? Or has he called it right?
HANAGAN lead narrowed to three by DE SOUSA for Flat Champ 2011.

Scoop6 Races for Saturday October 29th 2011 -  NO WINNER

Tote have just released the Scoop6 races for this Saturday, 29th October. They are: -
Race 1 : 2.30 Ascot
Race 2 : 3.00 Ascot
Race 3 : 3.15 Newmarket
Race 4 : 3.20 Wetherby
Race 5 : 3.40 Ascot
Race 6 : 3.55 Newmarket
There was no winner of the Scoop6 last Saturday. That is great news for you as the Win fund will start off this Saturday with £64,691 rolled over from last week and the Bonus fund starts at £584,424. Both these totals will grow rapidly as more stakes are placed.
Therefore a single winner of the Win and Bonus Funds could scoop around £800,000!
This weekend’s totescoop6 sees top-quality racing from both codes as the bet takes in racing from Newmarket, Ascot and Wetherby. The highlight sees a field of eight line up for the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase where last year’s Hennessy Gold Cup winner Diamond Harry is the 5/2 favourite to land the Grade 2 event.

C4 HISTORY IN THE MAKING THE MORNING LINE TEAM TODAY ARE:
NICK (Lord Snooty) LUCK Host, presenter broadcaster, welcome’s guest star JAMIE OSBORNE this morning, and brings us the latest news hitting the headlines throughout this week on the whip row.

GUEST STAR JAMIE OSBORNE  Bloodhorse Literate top professional jump jockey, turned trainer his operation  in Upper Lambourn.
"2010 saw some big changes for us. Not least the move from Kingsdown to The Old Malthouse. This has proved to be a positive one as the horses have thrived and resumed their winning ways. We have now laid the foundations from which we can grow.
"My older horses are housed ‘at home’ in The Old Malthouse. The yard was formerly occupied by Nick Gaselee, from where he trained Party Politics to win the 1992 Grand National. A converted farm, we have thirty recently renovated stables with a low key atmosphere in which horses relax and thrive.
"My two year olds live half a mile away in Frenchman’s Barn. They also benefit from a quiet environment and are close to the Kingsdown gallops – the best two year old facility in the village.

"Lambourn generally has suffered quite severely from the economic downturn and we have not been immune. However, the signs are good for the future. With the Jockey Club’s continued investment in the training facilities we can claim to have the most extensive, diverse and well managed gallops anywhere in the UK, if not the world.

"Facilities set in the beautiful Berkshire Downs, a million miles from the frenetic legions that populate the more urban environment of other training centres.

"Obviously we are hoping to increase the horse population in the village but Lambourn really is quiet countryside training and this will never change.

"Lambourn is secondary to Newmarket in size only. There is nothing secondary about training here. It has almost become Racing’s best kept secret".

TOM (Tipbits) LEE out on the track this morning, checking out turf condition’s and bringing us  his  BETTING BULLETIN’S up to the minute on line betting stats, market movers on the gambling front.

RICHARD HOILES Broadcaster Presenter Bloodhorse Illiterate.
"I don’t actually believe in tips: learned my lesson when I worked at Aintree in the ’90s where, within half an hour I was introduced to three owners, with competing runners in the same race. Each told me to ‘Get on!’ with substantial confidence – none of their horses was in the first three.
